Mat Ball

Mat Ball
Materials:
·         4 Mats
·         1 Kickball

Description:
The basic idea of the game is the same as kick ball. The difference here is that you must run around the mats in a clockwise and counter clockwise manner. The only time a point is scored is after the bases have been ran forward and in reverse. This means a run is scored when a player successfully makes it from home-1st-2nd-3rd-home-3rd-2nd-1st -home.
The base runner cannot step off any mat for any reason (This includes overrunning or stepping off of a base), unless they have the intention of running. Once a foot comes off of the mat, the individual must run to the next base.
The pitcher, who is usually a counselor, may 'fake' a throw. In this instance if a base runner steps off of the mat, the pitcher can throw the ball at them (from the waist down) to gain an out.
There are 4 outs in an inning. Then the kicking team and the team on the field Switch. The bases may only have 4 people on them at any time. This means if there is already four people on a base you cannot advance unless someone leaves the mat. Runners may run at anytime unless specifically told by the instructors.
